I will put Classical and Romantic periods together. I find them hard to properly distinguish and they both correspond to late 18th and early 19th centuries. Besides, I will sometimes include composers from late 19th century in this section, when I don't feel it's contemporary or "modern" enough.

Guitar was revitalized by Giuliani, so for a modern guitarist romantic period means variety of exercises, variations and arrangements.
